A Note from Pastor Vondie | May 2024
Spring has sprung at Cross Point. Like the flowers and trees blooming and new life all around us, we see people raised to new life in Christ. On Sunday, April 21, a husband and wife accepted Christ as their savior. We celebrate with Brandy and Michael and look forward to their baptism.
Just as spring brings things to life, May at Cross Point is a month when we will focus on the concept of “Amplify.” Amplify is the process of increasing. Increasing spreading the Gospel, increasing visibility, increasing our spiritual footprint, and increasing our awareness of God’s activity in our communities. At Cross Point, we are seeing amplification all across our various ministries. We are seeing more people step up to park in the gravel to provide a parking spot for someone they don’t know. This is so needed in the 10:45 AM service.
Some of the amplifying things in May to remember are as follows. On May 18, we have the opportunity to attend the Thriving Church Conference at the Teays Valley Church of God. This has the potential to change each ministry at Cross Point. Transportation will be available. If you want to go, please call the church office.
Mother’s Day at Cross Point is an additional amplifying moment. Moms make sure you are inviting your family to come and sit with you on this special day May 12. We will be talking about amplifying the message from one generation to another.
We will be celebrating our graduates on May 19. This is a milestone for our high school and college graduates. Their lives are definitely in amplified mode. Our graduates need your prayers as they tackle new challenges, face new opportunities, and adapt to living out their faith in their new life stage.
We will also celebrate the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper on May 19 in both AM services. In May, as you spend time with Jesus and your church family, watch for God’s leading to Amplify Jesus in and through your life.
