Young at Heart
Wednesdays @ 4:00 PM in Room 107
Facilitator: Dana Hosch & Vondie Cook Sr.
Description: A special time just for our seniors!
Eyewitness: a Study from 1, 2, 3 John
Noun: a person who has personally seen something
happen and so can give a first-hand description of it.
Synonyms: witness-bystander-spectator-beholder.
Have you ever wondered just how much you could have
learned had you been an eyewitness to the life of Jesus?
From God's own Son, you would have heard how deeply
God the Father loves you.
Consider how those teaching moments with Jesus would
have affected your everyday life. Perhaps you would have
learned about loving others, practicing hospitality,
identifying and dealing with false teachings, experiencing
a healthy prayer life, what advice would Jesus have given?
In the books of First, Second and Third John, Jesus'
teachings on all of these topics and more are discussed
from the perspective of John, a man who actually
witnessed the life of Jesus. As you study these three short
letters, your eyes will be opened to practical tips for
everyday life shared within the pages of God's Word.
Identity in Christ
When our sense of purpose or being is based on people, things, or circumstances, we are bound to be disappointed when those things change or let us down. But a life
centered on Christ brings a sense of stability and
wholeness. These six lessons from the writings of Paul and John, the Psalms, Genesis, and the Gospels will help participants find their identity in Christ--the way God
meant life to be.
Intentional Living
When we discover God's purpose for life and are filled
with his Spirit, our way of living changes; we become intentional in every word, action, and decision to say and do those things that are pleasing to God and aligned with his will. These six studies from the Gospels, the writings of Paul, Proverbs, and the writings of Peter will challenge participants to live intentionally to bring glory and honor to God.
