Pastor's Note
May is one of those months that arrives like a family reunion — there’s always somebody worth celebrating. On May 11th, we will honor the mothers of Cross Point Church. The Bible has no shortage of powerful women who shaped the course of history through their faithfulness, their sacrifice, and their love. From Hannah’s tearful prayer to Mary’s courageous “yes,” the mothers of Scripture remind us that the hand that rocks the cradle truly does shape the world. To every mother, grandmother, and woman who has poured herself into the life of a child — whether by birth, by choice, or by the sheer grace of showing up — we say thank you. You are seen. You are valued. And this church is richer because of you. We invite you to bring the special women in your life and worship with us as we celebrate the gift of motherhood.
Later in the month, we will set aside a Sunday to recognize our graduates. There is something sacred about a commencement — that word itself means a beginning, not an ending. Whether you are crossing the stage from high school with a diploma in hand or finishing your final semester of college with a degree you worked years to earn, know that Cross Point is standing on its feet for you. We are proud of your perseverance, your late nights, and your faithfulness through every season. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Graduates, the road ahead is wide open — walk it with God. For details on our Graduate Recognition Sunday, contact the church office. We hope every family will make it a point to be present.
As we close out the month on May 25th, the nation will pause to observe Memorial Day — a day set apart to remember those who gave everything so that we might live freely. Here in our part of the world, we know this sacrifice well. Our mountains have sent generations of sons and daughters into uniform, and too many of them came home draped in a flag. At Cross Point, we do not take that cost lightly. We honor the fallen not merely with a moment of silence, but with a commitment to live lives worthy of the freedom purchased on their behalf. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). This Memorial Day, let us hold their memory with gratitude and hold their families in prayer.
May is a month of gratitude, celebration, and reflection — and there is no better place to experience all three than in the company of God’s people. Cross Point is more than a church; it is a family. And like any good family, we show up for each other’s milestones. We cheer for the graduates, we lift up the mothers, and we bow our heads together for those who are no longer with us. As your pastor, I am grateful beyond words for the privilege of doing life with you.
Let’s make May count — together, and for the glory of God.

Community Impact Opportunity
Crescent Elementary is bringing their Kindergarten and Fifth Grade graduation ceremonies to our campus — and that means hundreds of students, families, and school staff are walking through our doors.
This is one of the most natural opportunities we have all year to show our community what Cross Point is about. No programs, no pitches — just warm, genuine hospitality that lets people know they are seen and welcomed.
To make these evenings a success, we need volunteers in three areas:
Parking Lot & Greeting — Help direct traffic and welcome guests with a warm smile.
Volunteers need to arrive by 5:00 PM and will meet at the Welcome Center in the Lobby.
Cleanup Crew — Help us leave the building better than we found it after the ceremonies wrap up. Cleanup volunteers need to arrive by 7:30 PM.
Graduation dates:
Kindergarten Graduation — Monday, June 1
Fifth Grade Graduation — Tuesday, June 2
If you'd like to be part of this, contact the church office, scan the QR code, or sign up through the Cross Point App.

Men's Ministry
Brothers of the Way Men’s Ministry Update
Spring Cleaning Work Day — May 16 @ 9:00 AM
Men love to work, and we’re putting that to good use! We’re planning a Spring Cleaning event at the church campus in May, tackling projects both inside and out. Jason Bess will be providing lunch that day — so wear your loose-fitting work pants and come ready to roll up your sleeves.
Summer Retreat on the New River
We’re also planning a two-day summer retreat on the banks of the New River — time around the campfire, time in the wilderness, and time to connect with God and with one another. More details will be coming next month. You will not want to miss this one.
Keep Praying With Us
Please continue to lift Brothers of the Way up in prayer. Ask God for His purposes, His will, and His way to be carried out among us — making disciples of Jesus, one man at a time. We are grateful to be on this journey with you.

Women's Book Club | May 19 at 10:30 AM
Cross Point Church’s Women’s Book Club will meet on Tuesday, May 19 at 10:30 A.M. in the church conference room. Our discussion will focus on the book “Miracle at the Higher Grounds Café” by Max Lucado. Max Lucado is a pastor, speaker, and best-selling author. This book has an inspiring light-hearted storyline with humorous touches to make you laugh and cry. The main character, Chelsea Chambers, has separated from her husband and decides to open an old-fashioned coffee shop. But when her famous cupcakes fail to pay the bills, she becomes desperate for help in the form of a miracle. After a curious stranger comes to work for her, suddenly her internet connection becomes a connection to the divine and business is booming until catastrophe strikes. You are welcome to join us as we discuss this book’s story of heartache and standing firm on your faith!

Baptism Sunday | May 31 at 11:00 AM Service
There's a moment many of us remember — when faith stopped being something we inherited and became something we chose. When we said yes to Jesus and meant it. If you've had that moment, we'd love to help you celebrate it.
Baptism isn't what saves you — Jesus already did that. But it is one of the most powerful declarations you can make, a public statement that says your life belongs to Him now. There is something sacred about standing in front of your church family and letting them witness that moment with you.
Our next Baptism Service is Sunday, May 31 during the 11:00 AM service. If you're ready, don't wait. Sign up through the Cross Point App, scan the QR code, or contact the church office — and when you come up out of that water, we will cheer for you like you won't believe.
