The Way Through

What does love actually do when life gets hard and temptation closes in? In this closing message of a series drawn from 1 Corinthians, we explore the powerful connection between two passages that are rarely read together. In 1 Corinthians 10, Paul gives us a warning and a promise: that no temptation we face is unique to us, and that God is faithful to provide a way of escape. But the message does not stop there. In 1 Corinthians 13, love is described as something that always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. The word that bridges both chapters is endurance. The same strength that carries us out of temptation is the very strength love uses to carry us home. We are reminded that God does not design the way of escape in the middle of the crisis. He plans it long before we ever arrive at the struggle. That truth alone has the power to reframe how we face difficulty, shame, and the feeling that we are uniquely broken. We are not. This is common to all of us, and that means we are never alone in the fight.
