Love Does Not Boast

What does it really mean to boast? We live in a world that constantly tells us to celebrate ourselves, promote our achievements, and defend our freedoms at all costs. But this message takes us deep into the heart of the ancient city of Corinth, where a young church was wrestling with the very same temptations we face today. Drawing from 1 Corinthians, we are confronted with a powerful question: what do we have that we did not receive? Every talent, every opportunity, every ounce of strength we possess was given to us. When we understand that, the whole idea of boasting in ourselves begins to crumble. The spiritual lesson here is both humbling and liberating. God did not choose us because of our greatness. He chose us in spite of our ordinariness, so that when transformation happens, there is only one place to direct the credit. This message challenges us to examine what we are most proud of and whether that pride is drawing people toward us or toward God. Love, as Paul describes it, does not boast because love remembers the source of every good thing.
