True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God. Francis works through James verse-by-verse, challenging followers of Christ to move beyond a private, intellectual knowledge of God and His Word, to a vibrant faith that impacts every square inch of life.
True Spirituality
Wednesdays @ 6:30 PM in the lobby
Facilitator: Pastor Vondie Cook
For many Christians, the abundant life that we hear about on Sunday doesn't line up with our experience Monday through Saturday. Many sincere believers find themselves feeling stuck, frustrated, and fatigued. If you've ever felt like you were 'going through the motions' without experiencing true joy or power, this may describe you. There is good news- this was never God's idea! If you've ever sensed that God has more in mind for you...but you're unsure how to experience it, True Spirituality is for you. This powerful study removes the clutter and presents a clear, compelling, Biblical picture of a true disciple of Jesus. You will be challenged...You will be encouraged...You will be stretched...You will be CHANGED.
Men’s Study: Common Man/ Uncommon Life
Wednesdays @ 6:30 PM in Room 106
Facilitator: TBA
God created us to be courageous and honorable and to fight with valor. We long for adventure, but somewhere along the way, we’ve settled for less. It’s time to re-engage in the battle and embark on the incredible adventure God has in store for us. This is a new 8-week group study designed to help men engage in battle and discover the life God wants for them.
Join us as we feature a group of ordinary men who have chosen to be set apart and live by a code. Their ethos is filled with honor, discipline, integrity, responsibility, and courage. They are the US Navy SEALs. Engage with an extraordinary group of Navy SEALs as they tell us how they’ve chosen to be set apart differently—as followers of Jesus. Hosted by former SEAL Jeff Bramstedt, we’ll hear stories of peril, bravery, and adversity as we dig deeply into the Bible to discover timeless principles that will help all men step into the life God has for them. This series asks the hard questions and shows common men how to lead an uncommon life.
Women’s Study: Starved
Wednesdays @ 6:30 PM in Room 107
Facilitator: April Perkins
Countless Christians are struggling with the never-ending chaos consuming our world. To find a way out of the overwhelm, we turn to our phones, social media, politics, and a million other little things, desperate for relief. But over time, these imposters leave us weak, weary, and starving. Now more than ever is the perfect time to examine what we are feeding our souls so that we can receive the sustenance we need.
Amy invites you to join her in practicing what it means to leave behind sluggish spirituality by offering healthy alternatives such as:
• putting down our phones to find genuine connection;
• letting go of anxiety and fear to discover peace;
• setting aside exhaustion so we can rest and be renewed; and more.
In this study, Amy welcomes you to the table, inviting you to sit down and give thanks and begin the good, holy work of indulging in spiritual nourishment that only comes from Jesus.
During these 8 weeks you will: Dig into discipleship. You will learn what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and what God expects for Christians. Learn about serving – what it is and why it is important; You will discover how God has uniquely gifted you and how you can utilize those gifts to serve Him; Discover the importance of small groups. Learn how they are important times to connect, share life together, and engage; learn what makes Cross Point unique; and hear the incredible journey from a courthouse revival to a thriving church that is making an eternal impact in the community.
